Zain and the Vocational Training Corporation Renew Strategic Partnership for the 17th Consecutive Year
In line with its ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and workforce development in Jordan, Zain Jordan has renewed its strategic partnership with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) for the 17th consecutive year. This collaboration reinforces Zain’s efforts in supporting vocational and technical education by providing free specialized training programs in mobile device maintenance, fiber-optic (FTTH) technology, and gaming console repair across various VTC centers.
Launched in 2008, this successful public-private partnership has resulted in the establishment of multiple training centers throughout the Kingdom. The first Zain training center was inaugurated at the Jordan Korea Institute in Zarqa, followed by additional centers in Tafileh, Karak, Balqa, Irbid governorates -in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation-, and the UNRWA-run Wadi Al Seer Training College in Amman.
Through these centers, Zain offers intensive hands-on training programs: six months for mobile and gaming console repair, and four to five weeks for fiber-optic technology. The programs incorporate both theoretical and practical training delivered by qualified instructors, and include transportation stipends, certified licenses from the VTC, and professional toolkits to support graduates in launching their careers. Zain also connects program graduates with employment opportunities by linking them with companies in the ICT and electronics sectors.
As of the end of 2024, over 1,500 young men and women (1,129 male and 374 female) have completed Zain’s training programs at VTC institutes, with a 60% employment rate achieved among graduates. The total number of graduates from all Zain training centers across Jordan has surpassed 2,000, with many securing jobs in technical repair centers or launching their own businesses, creating further employment opportunities for others.
Both Zain and VTC reaffirmed their shared commitment to delivering market-aligned, future-ready training programs, while continuously upgrading facilities and course content to match evolving industry needs. They emphasized the importance of expanding outreach to more youth across all governorates and fostering innovation and technical excellence within the programs.
VTC reaffirmed its commitment to offering up-to-date and advanced training environments that enhance the readiness of Jordanian youth to meet market demands. This partnership with Zain Jordan stands as a leading model of impactful public-private cooperation, delivering meaningful vocational training and employment pathways that contribute to national economic and social development.
Zain also continues to invest in the professional development of vocational trainers. Recently, a group of VTC instructors and Zain engineers participated in a regional workshop—the first of its kind in the Middle East—hosted by Huawei under the patronage of Zain and in partnership with Jordan Engineers Association. The workshop, held at the Jordan Korea Institute, focused on cutting-edge FTTR (Fiber to the Room) technology and aimed at upskilling technical trainers with the latest advancements in the field.
Zain announces these training opportunities on an ongoing basis through its official social media channels and media platforms, encouraging youth across the kingdom to enroll in the fully funded programs. These initiatives reflect Zain’s strong alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which are embedded in the company’s sustainability strategy.
